When Nagma Shaikh walked into Bright Future's Govandi Centre, she carried one simple aspiration — to create a life of dignity and stability for herself and her family. But like many young women from underserved communities, that dream came with its own set of challenges. Balancing responsibilities at home while preparing for a professional career demanded resilience every single day.

Through Bright Future's career readiness programme, she immersed herself in every learning opportunity. She strengthened her communication skills, developed the confidence to express herself, and learned the professional skills needed to step into the workplace. With every session, every activity, and every challenge she overcame, Nagma grew into a more confident version of herself.

Today, Nagma works as a Customer Executive, marking an important milestone in her journey towards independence. More than securing employment, her journey reflects what becomes possible when young people are equipped with the right guidance, practical skills, and unwavering support.

Kashish chose hope over circumstance
For Kashish Gupta, finishing Class 12 should have been the beginning of higher education. Instead, it became the end of a dream she wasn't ready to let go of.
Growing up in a family facing severe financial hardship, she put her aspirations aside to support her parents — helping her father at his fruit and vegetable stall and assisting her mother with household responsibilities. Like many young people, Kashish believed that responsibilities came before dreams.
Everything changed when a community social worker encouraged her to visit Bright Future's Govandi Centre.

Through career readiness training, she developed digital, workplace, and communication skills that helped her rediscover her confidence and potential.
Today, Kashish works at KidZania, creating a more secure future for herself and easing the financial burden on her family.
